If the different facets of anime intrigue you and you want to dive deep into the analysis of different anime adaptations of games and light novels, this is the place for you.

In particular, we will be zooming in on specific concepts in the field of cinematic adaptations. For instance, we will be looking at how loyally the anime follows the light novels or games. This is formally known as fidelity.

Further, we will take certain examples of appropriation, in which an anime takes specific lore or story and weaves it into its own identity. We also have a case where an anime has many intertexts - it is an adaptation of a source that has many sources.

Moreover, we will be noting some features such as plot, narrator, narrative-style, themes, time shifts and tone of the story, and see how these aspects change when looking at the anime and when looking at its adaptations. Focalization will be an essential part of this.

In this journey, we will be looking in depth at many anime and each of us will be looking at these one case at a time. We will be covering all aspects discussed above, along with the impact of voice actors, animation, and art style. We'll be releasing (a minimum of) five detailed blogs a week. Stay tuned!
